Hear her before she reaches you
Mother Gooseberry attacks with the drill hidden in Doctor Futterman’s puppet. Her singing and drill sound help locate her in darkness. Give yourself space: colliding with her can trigger a damaging grab rather than a simple hit.
When chased, head toward a route with another exit, break visual contact around solid corners and continue out of her path. Avoid settling in a hiding spot she has watched you enter. A door can buy time, but she can open or break doors and vault windows; it is not a permanent barrier.
Make room to continue the objective
A ready Stun or Blind Rig can interrupt pursuit and create space. Use that opening to reposition or finish a short interaction, then leave before she recovers. The exact duration depends on the Rig, upgrades and conditions.
In Grind the Bad Apples, pushing the boat into the grinder attracts her attention. Coordinate turns at the objective with your team’s escape tools; repeatedly pushing while she stands beside the boat leaves you exposed.
Stop bleeding after a hit
Drill damage causes bleeding, which continues to drain health. Get clear and use Bandages to stop it. Treat stopping the bleed and restoring lost health as separate needs.
Futterman explosive dolls are another hazard. Their hissing warns of an approaching explosion; keep clear, or use a Brick or Bottle to destroy one from a distance.
Harder difficulties and Variators can change pursuit and damage. This advice does not guarantee a fixed number of door hits or a safe grab-dodge timing across every run.
